- - - a couple's love story - - -

Love Story images are truly unique in showing personality, love and many times a playful side. By including it with the wedding photography coverage, the images created on the wedding day will show even more personality and exibit a natural feel - because of the familiarity of knowing how to work together and what is expected.
The Love Story photographic session takes place several months or even a year or more before the wedding day, at a location that provides a perfect backdrop for the story being conveyed.
History of A Love Story
I am "THE LOVE STORY GUY" - as one photographer so graciously referred to me. I have become known in the professional wedding photography community for my method of providing an artistic, romantic and playful series of images for couples.
Many times a love story session is something that couples who are getting married desire - as a way to remember the innocence and passion of their time together before marriage. Other times, it may be couples who are already married or even couples in love without any immediate plans of marriage - who really want a series of images of themselves, that reflect their true personalities and the way the couple feel about each other.
Being that I did not like the concept of the "traditional engagement picture", I have never provided them to couples who book me to photograph their wedding - even though the engagement picture has been a part of almost every wedding photographers package and couples many times have expected such a picture to be included in the coverage.
In 1986 I created the "Love Story Session" for my couples as an alternative to the only option they had at that time - a free traditional "engagement picture". To separate the 2 hour artistic Love Story photo session that I had started providing, from the traditional engagement portrait that was known to everyone - I had to come up with a descriptive name that the photographic shoot could be identified with. That description was found in a Rocky Gunn (a cutting edge photographer during the late 70's and early 80's) book that I had just purchased, where one of the chapters related to creative wedding photography, was simply titled "Love Story".
The wording "Love Story", perfectly suited the new style of photography that I was providing. From that time on, I was even more emphatic to my couples, that I did "not provide Engagement Pictures" - however they did have the option of a "A Love Story Series" if they chose to. This description has become a source of pride with my couples also, as they could proudly display a wonderful series of images of the 2 of them as they had never been photographed before. Their series of artistic Love Story images is unique and something that their friends and family many times have never seen before.
